About Glossop BookFest
Glossop BookFest was the ‘brainchild’ of children’s author/illustrator, Nicola Worswick, who, along with fellow local authors, Mark P. Henderson and Pamela Turton, founded the community project five years ago.
A new team was formed in 2022 when author Andrew Dutton and poet Andy Millican became members and the event, which was initially postponed due to bereavement then delayed by the pandemic, came to realisation in 2023.
Our aim is to provide an inclusive platform for creative writers and illustrators of all ages and abilities, professional and amateur, in Glossopdale and its neighbourhood.
We provide opportunities for poets, playwrights, novelists, short story writers and illustrators in all media to engage with and offer their work to the public by oral presentation and/or for sale, thereby promoting literacy and education within the community and forging connections among individuals to the benefit of their well-being and mental health.
